If you’ve shopped for shilajit online, you’ve probably noticed most brands sound identical: “pure Himalayan shilajit,” “ancient Ayurvedic secret,” “100% authentic.” The words are everywhere. The proof rarely is.
At Sammy Brand, we chose sun-drying over the fast industrial methods most sellers use — and that decision changes the product in ways worth explaining plainly, not with buzzwords.
How most commercial shilajit is processed
Most mass-market shilajit brands use heat-extraction — high-temperature evaporation that speeds up production and cuts processing time and cost. It’s efficient, but heat can degrade some of the delicate organic compounds naturally present in raw shilajit, particularly fulvic acid complexes, which are sensitive to prolonged heat exposure.
Sammy Brand does not use this method. We rely on sun-drying, a slower process that avoids high-temperature extraction entirely.
How Sammy Brand’s sun-drying process works
Our shilajit resin is sourced from high-altitude Himalayan and Central Asian terrain, where it forms naturally over centuries from the slow decomposition of plant matter under rock layers.
Rather than accelerating the process with heat, we let the raw resin sun-dry gradually at the source, in the Himalayan/Central Asian region where it’s collected. This natural drying takes around 2 to 3 months — far longer than heat-extraction methods, but it means the resin is never exposed to the high temperatures that can degrade its natural compounds.
Why slower can mean better
Sun-drying is a low-temperature, gradual process. The working theory — and I want to be careful with the word “theory” — is that avoiding high heat helps preserve more of shilajit’s naturally occurring minerals and fulvic acid content compared to rapid heat-based extraction.
We are currently completing independent lab testing for fulvic acid content, mineral profile, and heavy metal screening, and will publish the full results on this page once available. We’d rather show you real numbers than ask you to take our word for it.
